Product Designer

Full Time Position

The product incubation studio at Inamoto & Co. is looking for a Product Designer. We have built a prototype that our beta users love and are preparing to take it to market. We want someone to help us realize its vision and design user experience.

What you'll do

  • Focus on your user and aspire to learn everything you can about their behaviors, attitudes, and emotions to define the products and experiences you create.
  • Design best-in-class user experiences and interfaces for consumer digital products.
  • Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible and beautiful design deliverables.
  • Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership your work, and you take responsibility for every last detail, every step of the way.
  • Rapidly develop high level and/or high fidelity and detailed user journeys, mockups, and interactive prototypes, knowing when to apply pixel-perfect attention to detail, and when to make low-fi sketches and prototypes.
  • Gauge the usability of new and existing products and make constructive and informed suggestions.
  • Work with a small multi-disciplinary team. You’ll partner closely with engineering, product, and data folks to find elegant but practical solutions to design challenges.

Who you are

  • You have a great design sense, a love for complex problems, and an ability to articulate how a product or service should work.
  • You’ve shipped consumer products and understand what it takes to create awesome, consumer-oriented experiences.
  • You get nervous if you’re not sketching concepts, tweaking flows or polishing the designs that represent the big-thinking work.
  • You’re a great communicator.
  • You validate your design decisions through user-feedback.

Minimum Requirements

  • 5+ years work experience as a designer working on shippable products
  • Experience working closely with engineers on technical projects
  • Degree in design, HCI, CS or a related field or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Requirements

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
  • Ability to distill complex processes into simple, clear user interactions
  • Excellent visual standards and obsessive attention to detail
  • Anticipates issues at a macro and micro level concurrently
  • Highly organized and efficient
  • Calm under pressure
  • Solid understanding of user centric design principles
  • Knows what types of experiences are possible with today’s technology
